Jelly
Interactive Light Installation. Collaboration with Moradavaga

"Moradavaga's interactive installation for Mar Motto festival's 2025 edition invites the audience to a descent into the topic of the deep sea and an immersive exploration of different layers and sensorial experiences connected to it.
Establishing a physical and narrative dialogue with the most vertical room - 16 meters in height – in the former beer factory premises in Faro, and the two pre-existing elements in the space - a self-supporting wooden staircase designed by [A] ainda arquitectura and a stacked-top-to-bottom stone sculpture by artist António Bolota, both conceived and designed years ago on the scope of “Allgarve” cultural program, produced by the Serralves Foundation for Turismo de Portugal –, it showcases, as its central piece, “Jelly”, a giant interactive jellyfish whose tentacles gently embrace the surroundings, reacting with light variations to the sounds produced by visitors.
The piece is complemented by a series of representations of other deep sea creatures that mimic some of the actual camouflage skills of its real counterparts and that are only revealed by probing with the help of a UV flashlight in a game-like discovery activity."
